DANCE

Joshua’s journey in dance began in 2014, learning through YouTube tutorials before expanding into a wide range of styles including Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Popping, Tutting, Robot, and Isolation. His passion quickly evolved into performance, and he went on to compete in both the United States and Singapore, earning recognition as a semi-finalist and two-timePerformer of the Episode” on Dance Singapore Dance 2, as well as first runner-up at the IPOP Dance Competition at the age of 16.

While training at Mountview, Joshua further expanded his skillset by studying classical and ballroom styles such as Salsa, Shuffle, Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, and Merengue, under the guidance of renowned choreographer Paul Harris (Harry Potter film franchise).

He has also worked professionally as a movement choreographer in multiple theatre productions such as ADEY ኣደይ (Dir. Bethlehem Wolday-Myers) at The Cockpit Theatre and Taste Like Egg Fried Rice (Dir. Keyuan Zhang). His dance experience complements his work in stage, motion capture, and physical theatre, making him a versatile performer both in front of the camera and on stage.

“Joshua was a student of mine at a leading London Drama School and the final term of the work with me involved integrating dance material with scripts. One such script was the Jazz cafe in ‘Spiderman’. Joshua produced a quite extraordinary self-tape, that demonstrated his commitment and willingness to take risks. It impressed me so much that since he graduated, I have attempted to cast him in a film, a television series, and finally, I have successfully been able to organise working with Joshua as an Actor, in Autumn of 2024, at Warner Bros Studio Tour London.”

SINGING

Ever since I listened to singers like Ed Sheeran and Elton John, I’ve been inspired to explore and develop my vocal abilities. I began vocal training in 2018 and have since cultivated a strong interest in Musical Theatre. My training spans both Musicals and Pop, guided by experienced teachers. As a baritone-tenor, my vocal range extends from G2 to F4. Beyond singing, I also practice instruments such as guitar, continuously enhancing my musical skills. With this training, I aim to be able to perform in Musicals on West End!

On the side, I enjoy music production using Logic Pro, where I create songs for fun. Some of my tracks are crafted entirely a cappella, showcasing my creativity and passion for music-making.

STAGE COMBAT

In addition to my acting and musical pursuits, I have extensive experience in Stage Combat and Weaponry. Trained in a variety of combat techniques, including Unarmed Combat, Rapier, Katana, and Firearms, I bring a high level of precision and authenticity to physical roles. With my training and certification from IDfight, Mountview and True Edge, my education ensures that I approach each sequence with safety and professionalism. These skills have been an asset in productions that demand dynamic and believable action scenes.

My interest in weapons extends beyond formal training, as I enjoy working on coordination and challenging myself to learn new techniques. I have also self-taught a variety of weapons, including butterfly knives, nunchucks, bo staff, knives, and kamas. This dedication to expanding my expertise allows me to adapt to diverse performance requirements and deepens my understanding of physicality in storytelling.
